The Eels have been around for quite a while (almost 15 years). During that time they’ve released seven full-length albums. While there are some gems to be found scattered throughout their catalog (like Mr. E’s Beautiful Blues), whole albums can wind up being somewhat forgettable unless you’re a rabid fan.
That being said, the Eels seem to have finally hit stride with their latest release Hombre Lobo. Prizefighter is the first track. With a stripped down guitar sound, solid drums, and a good hook, Prizefighter is a great song.
