Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie
Technically, I should be crediting “Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars” but if you don’t know this is Bowie, then I’m going to send the ghost of Chris Farley over to hit you on the head with a tack hammer. Only Bowie can pull off singing a song as a fictional character, about a fictional character that happens to be the same fictional character he’s portraying.
So sit back and enjoy the dulcet tones of David Bowie’s alter ego. If you somehow happen to be looking for a more modern interpretation of this song check out Boston-based The Daily Pravda who recently covered this song better than just about anyone. It can be found here.

All My Friends Are Dead by Turbonegro
Turbonegro is a Norwegian punk rock band. Their style combines glam rock, punk rock and hard rock into something that the band describes as “deathpunk”. Despite the fact that they look like a deranged version of the Village People, they’ve made some pretty good music.
There are currently 5 members in the band; Hans Erik Dyvik Husby on vocals; Thomas Seltzer on bass/drums; Knut Schreiner on lead guitar; Pål Bottger Kjærnes on keyboards; and Tomas Dahl on drums. The track All My Friends Are Dead appeared on Turbonegro’s 7th album titled, Party Animals. You also might have heard it while watching Jackass Number Two.

Highly Dope Interviews Super 400!
We’ll be interviewing Super 400 and we’d like you to help by submitting your interview questions via e-mail. For your efforts, we’ll be selecting a couple of the best submissions and sending you a copy of Sweet Fist, or a signed copy of the for-radio-only “Flashlight” promotional CD. Submissions must be received no later than October 6th, 2009. We’ll be announcing the winners when we publish the interview about a week after the submission deadline.

Gospel Weed Song by Bizarre
You might have heard this track during the closing credits for Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. It’s an interesting mix of rap and well…gospel. At the time of its release there was supposedly quite a lot of pressure on Bizarre’s label to pull the song since religious groups found it offensive. Perhaps those folks should have taken the advice in the song? Anyway, play it below or check out the video here.
